Reccomended restaurants

For the restaurants of Rennes, it is vital that you get a copy of Petit futé (on sale in most newsagents for 39ff) as it has a comprehensive review of them. This author cannot afford to visit all of them, so he has borrowed from Petit Futé a selection of their reccomended restaurants. These are only some of the many resteraunts in Rennes, I have left out any who have their own delights, so get a petit futé as soon as you get to Rennes.

IF YOU STILL PREFER NOT TO EXPLORE THE INTERNATIONAL DELIGHTS OF THESE RESTAURANTS THEN OF COURSE YOU CAN BE ORIGINAL AND GO TO MCDONALDS.

Supermarkets

Rennes is well served by the supermakets, which are often combined into commercial centres known as Hypermachés. For those who find themselves on low budgets, they are ideal for purchasing your food and drink. For example, a demi of Kronenburg is about 13ff in a bar, a box of ten bottles is about 20/25ff.

Market days

The French market is quite popular, and I have discovered people visiting these as early as 5am (whilst I was returning from the nightclub). Throughout Rennes there are several regular markets from Tuesday to Saturday. Plenty of fresh produce, with cheese and seafood being the mainstay of these markets. Fairly cheap as well and a good opportunity to sample local produce.
